We are looking for new board members to run Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust. This is a volunteer role typically for 1 - 3 years, with training provided.
Charities are run by a group of volunteers called Trustees or a Board of Directors. Their key role is making sure the charity is bringing about the public good that it is set up to do. In our case, that is the provision of community buildings and activity to support the Lockleaze community. The other key role for trustees are looking after our assets - or money, stuff, people - and asking questions to make sure we are we well run and operating lawfully. It is a very important role and trustees are hidden gems and unsung heroes of charity work.
As a Trustee you have collective Board-level responsibility for the oversight of the charity. The Trustees meet 6 - 8 times a year to discuss and review the performance of the charity, and support the staff team.
We are passionate about our trustee board representing our local community and would welcome local residents and particularly our BAME community, we also need specialist skills to support the work we do (see list below)
