As Treasurer, you’ll manage day-to-day finances of the charity, and oversee our various income streams including fundraising, sponsorships, and funding applications. You’ll also be part of the Executive board, which functions like a Trustee board.
You don’t need to have been a Treasurer or a Trustee before; we will provide a full induction and resources to help you settle into the role.
- Manage month-to-month finances of the charity, including record keeping and approving payments in and out of the bank account.
- With the Chairs, budgeting for our annual programme of events.
- Applying for funding and grants, when possible, and providing relevant reports and documents to any grant providers.
- Oversee fundraising and collection tins, alongside the Chairs.
- Be responsible for our bank account, alongside two to three other authorised users, including the Chairs.
- Ensure Trans Pride Bristol complies with its financial management policies and provides annual financial reports to the Charity Commission.
- Ensure Trans Pride Bristol complies with its governing document, charity law and any other relevant legislation and regulations.
- Contributing to the strategic financial direction of the charity, setting overall policy, defining goals, setting targets and evaluating performance.
Any experience you have does not have to be from paid work - it can be from volunteering or your personal life.
- What we’re looking for:
- Someone with an interest in what we do.
- Someone with experience using and managing spreadsheets.
- Someone who has good communication skills, particularly with sponsors and funders.
- Experience of budgeting and securing external funding is desired, but not essential.
- Someone who can commit to this role for 6 months at a minimum, for 4-6 hours per month.
- Someone who can attend an online monthly meeting on the second Sunday of every month in the afternoon.
