We’re looking for volunteer Thing Technicians to join our team on Tuesdays, Thursdays or Saturdays, helping to look after the Things in our Library of Things in Kingswood.
What is the Share Bristol?
Share Bristol is making it easy to borrow the things we need to live our lives. Whether it’s a drill for a DIY project, a tent for a family holiday or a chocolate fountain for a party, we want it to be affordable and accessible, and meet the needs of the local community.
This role involves:
- Test out donated things before they make it into the library catalogue or as they return from being borrowed. Think tents, sewing machines, power drills.
- Make notes of your experience (think of it as a review) and also anything that doesn’t work, needs repairing, or is slightly quirky – so we can fix it or move it on to ensure we only provide things in good working order to our members.
- If you have the experience you can fix or repair donated things that have been tested and have faults reported. Think electronics, replacing batteries, sewing.
- Then, when in good working order, all things will need cleaning ready for their library catalogue photo shoot or their next borrow!
