Do you want to develop your ecology skills and play a key role in scaling up activity in the West of England to support nature’s recovery and empower communities? Are you willing to learn and develop skills in habitat creation and management as well as GIS? Are you able to communicate well with the public to make positive changes for nature? If so, this could be the volunteering opportunity for you…
The Wildlife Trusts are working to facilitate nature’s recovery within the communities we work alongside, and we know that if nature is to be restored at scale, we need many more people on nature’s side. This role will enable you to make a real difference to nature’s recovery and will also help to empower people. This will contribute towards our vision to protect 30% of land and sea and to have 1 in 4 people take action for wildlife by 2030.
We are looking for a volunteer that is willing to learn and develop their skills in areas such as habitat management and creation, communication, data management and GIS. The volunteer will be working with and supported by the Team Wilder Community Ecologist as part of the Team Wilder Ecological Advisory Service (TWEAS).
TWEAS is funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and has been set up to support individuals and communities take action for nature within the Avon area. Advice is given through video calls, site visits and workshops. The volunteer role will be to assist with the TWEAS through helping with habitat creation workshops, site visits and support the analysis and documentation of activities.
