BEFRIENDERS/SUPPORTING VISITORS VOLUNTEERS NEEDED IN SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE CARE UNITS
Sirona's care & health are looking to allow people to visit some of their service users who are receiving rehabilitation in 2 of their care units following a hospital visit before they are ready to return home. These units have been closed to visitors during the COVID-19 crisis.
As these visits will be managed in order that COVID-19 Government guidance is complied with, they are looking for some volunteers who can assist them in pre-booking appointments on the 2 nominated visit days, help get the service users into wheelchairs and take them to the designated enclosed visit area in the gardens of the units, greet visitors, help with any PPE they may need to put on and socialise with service users who may not have visitors.
Volunteers need to be over 18 years of age with the ability to manage a service user in a wheelchair.
If you have some time available and would enjoy the opportunity to volunteer at either of the following care units:
- Henderson Rehabilitation Unit, top floor of The Grace Centre, Thornbury
- Skylark Rehabilitation Unit, top floor of The Meadows Centre, Yate
Help us keep the website safe for everyone to enjoy. Please use this form to tell us what is wrong with this post. Someone will take a look as soon as possible to resolve the issue.
