Support Session Volunteer

Could you help someone file a complaint about their housing or GP? Could you help someone find local services? Could you help someone understand the information they have been given about their care and support?

Support Session Volunteers help our clients with general advocacy issues who are not eligible for Statutory Advocacy. The help us to reduce waitlists and support more individuals by:

  • Helping clients understand about advocacy
  • Supporting clients with general issues they cannot resolve on their own
  • Keeping detailed notes and records of interactions with clients and visits
  • Logging work on the case management system
  • Doing research and making contacts with other services
  • Referring clients to our paid advocacy service if necessary
  • Signposting clients to other services
  • Promoting our services and organisation
  • Delivering general advocacy cases

You could help improve the quality of someone’s life.

This role is ideal for social work students, an interest in the care sector or retired professionals.
