Migrateful is an award winning social enterprise.
Our aim is to aid asylum seekers, refugees and other migrants in their journey to integration through supporting them to run cookery classes.
To properly run a class, Migrateful needs 3-4 volunteers for each, for a total time of 5.5 hrs per class.
A volunteer can typically expect to: assist with setting up the space, warmly welcome participants and ensure they have a great experience, help with washing up and packing away, enjoy a delicious meal, support a migrant chef, and gain insights into diverse cultures and cuisines.

Migrateful supports migrants who might not have been able to access work in the UK due to barriers that are in place, such English language, qualification not being recognised, or their asylum claim not being processed yet. We support them being able gain professional experience in the uk, improve their confidence and english language, and offer a chance to find a new community and path to integration by celebrating their culture and sharing their deliciosus food together.
The classes are designed as an opportunity for people to learn about someones culture, cuisine and story that might they not have known about before now. We hope to challenge the negative steriotyping and predudices that exist towards migrant groups in this country by coming together and learning from each other, sharing stories and having a lovely dinner together.
Founded in July 2017, it has facilitated over 5,000 classes and supported over 110 chefs from a number of different countries the most recent in Bristol being, Kurdish, Turkish, Sudanese, Sri Lanken, Ethiopian, Egytpian and Hong Konger.
Classes take place in person in London and Bristol and online and aside from public classes, Migrateful also offers team building cookery classes and demonstrations to companies and private groups.
