Start your own Street Group and finally get to know all your neighbours on your street!
I'm keen to get people connecting with their neighbours who live on the same street - to build and strengthen their street's community and identify vulnerable and elderly people on their street so that we can all support each other during these difficult times - and also well into the future.
So I've made it very easy for you!
I have set up a website: startwiththestreet.org on which there are step by step instructions as to how to set up your Street Group, a downloadable flyer to print and distribute up your street and lots of creative ideas, information and entertainment to keep you occupied and see you through this covid chaos! Website still being built, so loads more content will be added over the next few days...
Please start a group on your street, add people you know, ask them to add other neighbours on your street that they know and let the fun begin! Now you know each other, you will almost certainly want to organise a street party after all this over so that you can finally meet face to face!
We now have five thriving Street Groups on Windmill Hill with 35-60 members on each, all sharing errands, ideas, books, banter... even organising Street Sings outside their front doors ... and so much more...
If you like the idea, please share widely personally and via your social media groups, encourage your friends and family to start their own groups and let me know how you get on.
