Hours: 1 day per week – to include preparation, food collection and direct delivery time.

Start Date: June/July 2023

We are looking for two enthusiastic Volunteers to run St Werburghs Foodshare. This project has been running since July 2020, with a solid base of regular users and there are processes and contacts in place to support its operations. The role is based at St Werburghs Community Centre and focuses on providing support in response to the cost of living crisis – specifically providing food and essential items to vulnerable families and members of the local community.

You will co-coordinate Foodshare services from the Centre, one day a week (Thursday) working with other volunteers and liaising with Centre staff in order to deliver a quality service.

Please note that:

  • we ask that you commit to a minimum of four months of volunteer time as it takes time to train you in the role.
  • this is a voluntary role and all volunteer expenses will be covered (transport, lunch) in line with our policies.

Summary of responsibilities and personal duties:
You will co-run Food Share service at the Centre working with another volunteer coordinator plus other ad hoc volunteers in planning and organising donations of produce, packing parcels and carrying out the distribution of these from the Centre to targeted recipients.

To apply – more details of the role and how to get involved are on our website https://stwerburghs.org.uk/services/volunteer-opportunities/
