About St Werburghs Community Centre
St Werburghs Community Centre is one of Bristol’s busiest and most loved community buildings with over 50 years of history and 80,000 annual footfall. It offers a range of meeting rooms and event spaces within its beautiful Victorian building and the eco-friendly annexe, which are used by over 300 groups per year delivering services, training, support sessions, classes and events.
About the role
We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to help us make sure our events run smoothly and are inclusive and accessible to everyone. We run a series of events at our community centre, as well as our popular Picnic in the Park which is held both at the centre and in Mina Road Park, bringing our local community together.

Tasks
Tasks vary depending on the event, but these can include and are not limited to: setting up, decorating, meeting and greeting, serving food and drink, being available to chat and have fun with the attendees, setting down and clearing up.
Current Events
Volunteers will be needed a few hours before an event as well as a few hours afterwards for clear up. As an events volunteer, you don’t have to commit to a whole day or every single event. Volunteer shifts usually operate as half days (4hrs each).
- Festive Friends Tea Party, Friday 17th May 2024, 12pm –2.30pm
- Open Day & Refugee Festival Launch, Saturday 8th June 2024, 1pm – 5pm
- Picnic in the Park, Date TBC (September 2024)
- Festive Friends Christmas Party, Date TBC (December 2024)
Training & Support
For this role you will receive a Safety Induction / Risk Assessment. Depending on the event, volunteers will be briefed and supported by a member of staff to fulfil their roles.
