The Whitchurch Folk House is a community-run charity and social club based in South Bristol. We host a wide range of events and activities, including family events, live music, community groups, room hire, fundraising events and local celebrations.
We are looking for one or more Social Media & Marketing Volunteers to help us share what we do, reach more people and promote the Folk House as a welcoming community venue.
This could be a great opportunity for:
- a student looking for practical experience in marketing, social media, communications, design or the charity/non-profit sector
- someone with professional marketing, communications or design experience who would like to support a local community organisation
- a creative local resident who enjoys social media, Canva, photography, video, posters or community storytelling
- someone who wants to build their confidence, skills or portfolio while making a positive difference locally
You do not need to do everything. We are very happy to hear from people who can help with just one area.
Depending on your skills and interests, you could help with:
- creating and scheduling social media posts
- promoting events, membership and room hire
- designing simple posters or graphics in Canva
- taking photos or short videos at events
- helping with newsletters or website content
- supporting campaigns for fundraising, volunteering and community projects
- coming up with ideas to grow our audience and increase engagement
This is a flexible volunteering opportunity. We can work around your availability and agree a level of involvement that suits you. Some tasks can be done remotely, while others, such as photography or event content, would involve visiting the Folk House.
In return, we can offer:
- real experience supporting a community charity and social club
- useful portfolio, CV or university application experience
- a friendly and supportive environment
- flexibility around your availability
- the chance to bring your own ideas and creativity
- the opportunity to make a visible difference to a much-loved local venue
We are looking for people who are reliable, friendly and interested in supporting local community life. Experience is welcome, but enthusiasm and willingness to help are just as important.
