Milestones Trust is a health and social care charity supporting people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and dementia. The Trust provides residential, nursing and community support services to around 750 people living in the Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset areas.
We are looking for a volunteer to support a keen chess and snooker player as the person you will be helping is particularly interested in chess and snooker and would like to meet someone with either one or both of these interests too.
Can you help?
We are looking for a volunteer who is friendly and patient with good social skills, as well as someone who likes chess and/or snooker! This is a very flexible role and could be weekly, fortnightly or even monthly, to suit the volunteer’s schedule. The individual is a competent chess and snooker player so would ideally like to meet with someone with similar interests. Chess could be played in the person’s home or a local café and snooker would be in a local snooker hall.
Staff will support the volunteer with a thorough induction and will join the volunteer until they feel confident. Staff will always be available for support and will provide regular feedback.
We can cover travel and some activity expenses. The individual lives in Henleaze.
Please note, for all of our volunteer roles a DBS check will be carried out and references will be taken up. Please get in touch if you are interested or would like further information, we would love to hear from you.
