We need volunteers to join us for our seasonal Community Fayres. We have plans for 3 exciting events for 2023 at the Public Hall in Shirehampton which will once again be held on a Saturday with stalls, food and activities happening.
- We need a couple volunteers for each shift to help with our Market Kitchen serving refreshments and homemade cakes made by Sherralee. Two shifts are available 9.30am until 12.30pm and 12.30pm until 3.30pm.
- We need 2 or 3 volunteers to help with set up in the morning 8am until 10am. This includes setting out the tables in the hall, helping stall holders bring in stock, placing event notices on Lamp Posts through the High Street, Pembroke Road and Station Road and incorporating a balloon trail that will lead to the Public Hall. (Balloons will already be blown up and strung together in readiness) From time-to-time bunting and decorations may also need to put up.
- We also need a volunteer to cover our arts and crafts activities from 10.30am until 2.30pm.
- We need a couple volunteers on hand from 10am until 3pm to help with general duties such as over-seeing games/activities, ensuring our stall holders get refreshments throughout the day and help with any questions posed from our community fayre visitors. This can be split into two shifts from 10am until 12.30pm and 12.30pm until 3pm.
- And finally, we need a couple volunteers to help with take down from 3pm until 4pm/4.30pm at latest. Storing away tables and chairs, help stall holders where needed pack up/move stock to their cars and clearing up the hall and outdoor space. Remove and collect our signage from the lamp posts that we will reuse time and again.

Shirehampton Markets is a non-profit community organisation which comes under the umbrella of SCAF (Shirehampton Community Action Forum) We run regular monthly markets on the first Thursday of every month and aim to run 3 seasonal community fayres on a Saturday.
Each of these events have come out of Shirehampton's Community Survey. We have listened to your requests and fully understand your time is valuable. However, there is no magic wand, and these events are run with help of volunteers.
For our Saturday Community Fayres, we certainly need volunteers to continue in the future and we really do hope there are people out there to help us for a couple of hours or so with different duties stated above and pull together as a community.
