On Saturday 22 March, together with our families, friends and allies, we will gather in fierce beauty to raise awareness of the importance and value of care.
Join us!
Join us to amplify women’s voices, show that Bristol cares about its carers, care workers, people who receive care e with caring responsibilities.
We all need care at one point in our lives and will likely care for another whether a child, a partner, a friend, a relative.
We will walk and sing with our heads held high, our messages shining bright, claiming our honour and dignity, and that of those who will be absent due to caring responsibilities or being cared for, and we are calling for change!
This will be a peaceful, beautiful and family-friendly event with performances, lanterns with women’s messages, large figurines wearing dresses printed with women’s messages, invitations to sing, finding and representing strength in togetherness. We will be seen!
- Volunteer to help us carry one of over 200 placards created by carers and caregivers who can’t join due to caring responsibilities, health, or mobility issues. Sign up here.
Together with the Lamplighters Arts CIC, we have gathered women from Bristol’s diverse communities. It is their messages that we will carry down the streets, “to care is to love”, “we are wonderful, full of courage”, “I’m burning out” , “know our worth” and many many more.
This event is part of the Value the Caring Economy Campaign.
This is event didn’t receive funding from Bristol City Council to take part in Bristol Community Festival.
