The Harbour is a small charity based in the centre of Bristol.

Our vision is to enable people to live well with death and grief.

Our mission is to help people live well with the grief of facing their own death, the death of a loved one, or when they have been bereaved. We do this by providing in-depth emotional support to individuals, couples and groups.

“Counselling at The Harbour has completely changed my life; it’s changed my outlook on myself, it’s given me confidence to open up and talk about it.”

- Phil, former client

To date, we have offered more than 40,000 counselling and psychotherapy sessions to people with a serious life-threatening illness, their carers and loved ones, and to those who have been bereaved.

Led by CEO Natasha Davies, the organisation is working hard to deliver against a forward thinking and impactful vision - to make The Harbour’s services accessible to everyone who needs it across Bristol. We are taking our services out into Bristol’s many communities.

To deliver the vision the charity faces exciting challenges around expansion of service delivery and funding.

As we move into a new chapter at The Harbour, needed now are a number of engaged individuals to join the existing Board of Trustees and be part of a proactive Board team for the CEO in her delivery of the vision.

As a board we are committed to breaking down barriers to trusteeship and welcome applications from all backgrounds and experiences.

If you are passionate about our cause and think your skills and experience would add something, we want to hear from you.

We warmly invite you to email our Chair chair@the-harbour.org.uk to arrange an informal conversation about the role and the process.
