• Walk leader training will be provided and regular catch-up sessions with our walk Volunteer Manager. Incident management will be covered in detail during the Walk leader training including what walk leaders’ responsibilities are.
• There will be five sessions to attend as part of training: Introduction to the role- 28th April/7th May, Biosecurity walk- 28th/30th April, Conservation knowledge walk- 25th/27th May, Visitor Welcome-25th/28th May, Conclusion session-28th May/6th June.
• Adapt walks to fit the needs of different audiences, including any access and inclusion requirement they may have
• Raise questions through volunteer feedback for continual development with knowledge and practices
• Learn about the daily offer at Dyrham Park to answer questions and assist/encourage visitors to make the best of their day
• Keep an eye on any areas of the park that might be suffering and wear and tear and reporting to the park team
• Keep in touch with staff so you’re aware of what they are doing on a day to day basis and what projects are happening
• Understand the need for a balance between conservation and access so that you can pass this message to visitors when needed.
• Being part of a team that may need to adapt and change in response to local needs, National Trust priorities or changes to government guidelines e.g .Covid
