About Silver Sundays
St Werburgh’s Community Centre will be running an event on Sunday 5th October from 1pm – 4pm as part of Age UK's Silver Sunday. It will be a free day of activities aimed at people 55+.
We've got lots of planned for the day, including:
- Fitness sessions: Tai Chi, Strength & Balance and Fuxico
- Creative workshops: Screen printing and Printmaking
- Activities: Sound bath, Chess and Knit & Natter
- Live music from What the Folk
- Art exhibition
- Silent disco through the decades
- Reflexology and head massage sessions
- Refreshments - tea, cake and snacks
- Stalls from local organisations including U3a, St Pauls Advice Centre and Age UK Bristol
About the role
We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to help us make sure the event runs smoothly and is inclusive and accessible to everyone.
This inlcudes helping set up and pack down, overseeing the activities and assisting our guests.
Person Specification
- Friendly and Approachable: Our volunteers have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy interacting with people from diverse backgrounds in a welcoming and inclusive manner.

Tasks
Task can include and are not limited to: running our refreshments stand, overseeing the silent disco, assisting with activities, chat and have fun with the attendees, setting up and packing down the event.
About St Werburghs Community Centre
St Werburghs Community Centre is one of Bristol’s busiest and most loved community buildings with over 50 years of history and 80,000 annual footfall. It offers a range of meeting rooms and event spaces within its beautiful Victorian building and the eco-friendly annexe, which are used by over 300 groups per year delivering services, training, support sessions, classes and events.

We are looking for volunteers for 11:30am - 5pm. The event runs from 1pm – 4pm, we'll need people to help set up and packdown either side.

Please get in touch with us ASAP. Volunteer applications will close once all positions will be filled.
Training & Support
There will be a volunteer in-person briefing on the day of the event, and you will be supported by St Werburghs Community Centre Staff throughout your shift.
You are also welcome to come and meet the team at the centre beforehand.
