Bristol Zoological Society are looking for a sixth Trustee to enhance the skills and experience of our current Trustees.
We would like to hear from individuals with:
- Experience of pensions schemes, either as a trustee or an officer
- Experience of oversight of investment management
We are looking for an individual who will contribute to the work of the Pension Trustees through enthusiasm, experience and appropriate challenge. They will be a good listener, have strong analytical and communication skills, be a team player and confident in making their point of view.
The minimum time commitment is currently four meetings a year plus the time required to read the papers in advance of the meeting. A full induction will be given as well as relevant training updates from time to time.
Pension Trustees are also invited to attend Society events from time to time – this might include the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, conservation lectures, Zoo events and staff meetings. These are not a requirement, however getting to know the wider organisation can help contribute to success as a Pension Trustee.
This is not a professional pension trustee role. The Pension Trustees are volunteers: their time isnot paid but travel expenses will be reimbursed if required. Meetings are held in Bristol or by video-conference. The term of office is normally three years with the option to extend for two further three year terms.
