We're looking for someone with tech skills to help us organises an online/in-person event in the autumn.
Background:
We believe that the recently implemented Clean Air Zone is creating an opportunity for Bristol’s citizens to re-consider their travel patterns across the city and to choose public and active modes of transport. To this end we want to highlight the Air Quality (AQ) Annual Status Report 2025 due to be published at some point in September/October (date to be confirmed). We believe that the results will be a much needed boost to the cause for clean air in our city.
Bristol City Council (BCC) publishes air quality (AQ) statistics annually to monitor and assess the quality of the air within the city, and to inform the public about the levels of pollutants and their potential health impacts. This data is used to identify areas where air quality is poor and to track the effectiveness of measures implemented to improve it.This is a staturatory obligation,
The findings of the AQ report for 2023 (the first year of the Clean Air Zone) went by in the autumn of last year pretty much unnoticed by many so we are hoping to highlight them this year.
We have invited Andy Edwards (Sustainability Co-ordinator - Air Environment) to speak to the group about the stats once they're released which he has agreed to do.
It would be great to have this event live streamed to Facebook if possible.
