Help Nature Thrive in Bristol’s green spaces
Get outdoors and improve your own wellbeing. Join us at ranger-led seasonal tasks to help nature thrive in woodlands, wildflower meadows, orchards, ponds and streams across Bristol.
Join in seasonal practical activities:
- Cut back brambles along woodland edges or in grassland.
- Clear litter along paths and streams.
- Learn new skills – scything grass, pruning fruit trees, coppicing trees.
- Rebuild paths and steps in woodlands.

Session timing
Tuesdays, 10am – 12.30pm core session / – 2.45pm optional all day - see below for current programme.
Fridays, 10am – 12.30pm core session / – 1.45pm optional all day - see below for current programme.

Come prepared
- Please bring snacks/ lunch and a full water bottle
- Wear sturdy shoes and suitable clothing for weather conditions
- No experience needed. All levels of fitness welcome
We will provide:
- Training, tools, and gloves
- Hot drink and biscuit
Work sessions are led by Nicky Hodges, a ‘Roving’ ranger. Nicky will send an email the day before to confirm details of meeting point and planned activity.
Each session will begin with a ‘tools talk’ covering:
- Introduction to the site and the day’s task
- Demonstration of how to use tools safely
