Medical Detection Dogs is funded purely by voluntary contributions, without our fundraisers, we would not be able to continue our life saving work. If you enjoy fundraising and engaging with the local community, why not become an active fundraiser? This role makes a real difference to the work we do, is fun, gives you the opportunity to meet lots of people and contribute directly to a worthwhile cause. Anytime you can give makes a big difference - some fundraising is occasional, and others require a greater commitment This volunteer opportunity is great for everyone to become involved!

 

What does the role involve?

  • Raising awareness and funds for Medical Detection Dogs
  • Being an ambassador for the charity
  • Working alongside others in the local area
  • Assisting with street collections or at local supermarkets
  • Utilising fundraising tool kit
  • Following all basic paperwork and money handling procedure
  • Raising awareness and funds for Medical Detection Dogs by attending local events
  • Organising your own event and/or helping at events organised by MDD or other local groups
  • Welcoming visitors to events, talking to the public about our work and answering their questions
  • Helping to set up and pack up at events
  •  Selling MDD merchandise and keeping accurate records of sales and donations
  • Taking part in and supporting challenge events
  • Keeping up to date with the charity’s news, information and fundraising calendar

What skills or experience are required?

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confident engaging with the public
  • Enthusiastic and motivated
  • Interest in Medical Detection Dogs work
  • Enjoy meeting people and talking about our charity
  • Able to work with others

Location 

• Flexible - Volunteers can organise fundraising events within their local area. Volunteers can also attend charity-organised events where applicable.

Time

• Volunteers can be flexible with events they organise and attend to suit their own availability.
