You will join a group of volunteers at our dockside cheerpoint to show our supporters how much they mean to us by cheering them on as they take part in the challenging race. The festival atmosphere truly takes over the town and cheerpoints are one of the most fun volunteering opportunities, a great chance to meet new people and make some noise. This is a fully flexible volunteering opportunity with no ongoing commitment. You'll leave on a high and possibly with a sore throat from all that cheering!
Cheerpoints may seem removed from Macmillan's services, but they play a vital role in supporting people living with cancer.
They:
- show runners we appreciate them which can lead them to fundraise or volunteer for us in the future.
- raise vital awareness of Macmillan services
- show the public that Macmillan will be there for them in their local area
- help to create great volunteer networks that can support people living with cancer
All kit and training will be provided on the day. If you have any questions about this or other roles please get in touch at teammacvols@macmillan.org.uk.
