Join our Independent Remuneration Panel (IRP)

The IRP plays an important role in making recommendations about Bristol City Council councillors' allowances, helping make sure decisions are fair, and giving confidence to residents about how decisions on allowances are made.

We're looking for 3 to 5 independent voluntary members to join the panel.

We’re looking for people who can assess evidence and provide balanced advice. No local government experience needed.

The role involves attendings some meetings for which you will receive £75 and travel expenses.  There will be some preparation involved, and support will be provided.  Panel members are expected to take on the role for a period of two years.
