Time2Share is a local charity dedicated to supporting disabled children, young people, and their families in the Bristol, Bath, and North East Somerset region. Established in 1972, we focus on creating opportunities for social interaction and fun for disabled youth.

As a Volunteer at Time2Share, you will play a vital role in our mission to support disabled children and young people. Located in Bath and North East Somerset, this position allows you to make a meaningful impact by fostering friendships and providing companionship through our befriending scheme.
Responsibilities

  • Assist in organising and facilitating activities for disabled young people
  • Provide one-on-one support as part of our befriending scheme
  • Foster positive relationships with participants to enhance their social experiences
  • Communicate effectively with families to understand their needs
  • Participate in training sessions to develop your skills as a volunteer
  • Collaborate with other volunteers and staff to create a welcoming environment
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during activities
  • Help promote the charity's mission within the community

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills are essential for engaging with young people and their families
  • A genuine interest in supporting disabled individuals is highly desirable
  • Previous experience working with children or in a volunteer capacity is preferred but not required
  • Basic understanding of English is beneficial for effective communication
  • Willingness to participate in training sessions provided by Time2Share
