Take a break from your normal routine and spend some time laughing, playing and being inspired by the
incredible girls and young women in Girlguiding.

Through our different sections, Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers, Girlguiding offers girls from 4 to 18 years old opportunities to meet weekly to earn badges and follow their interests.  Weekly meetings are usually held in the evening and provides girls a place to have fun and empower them to know they can do anything.

As a volunteer organisation we rely on people giving up their time to give girls these experiences to earn their badges, make friendships and look after their community.  It's not just our girls that benefit from being involved in Girlguiding, we ensure every volunteer has a warm welcome and we offer the opportunity to build your own skills either by completing our leadership development qualification, becoming a first aider or qualified outdoor activity instructor.

Who Can Volunteer?

Anyone! There’s no requirement to have been involved in guiding before, and we’ve got lots of different opportunities. We have groups all over Bristol and the surrounding area and can find a unit for you to volunteer in and be apart of your local community.

What Roles Are There?

Leaders

As unit leader, you’ll run the unit, lead a team of volunteers, and plan and deliver a programme of awesome activities. If you’d like to become a leader, you’ll be supported to complete our leader development programme.

Unit Helpers

Lots of new volunteers start out as a helper at regular unit meetings. You’ll work alongside other volunteers to give girls fun, friendship, challenge and adventure. There’s no responsibility for planning in this role but you’ll be a much needed extra pair of hands.

Supporting Roles

These roles are perfect for you if you can’t give time every week, want to help casually or are keen to share a specific skill or passion. This can be anything from admin and accounts, camping or football through to photography, marketing, fundraising or managing a shop!

Volunteering with us offers the opportunity for you to rediscover adventure, make new friends and get involved in the community.
