About the event

Come along to our apple pressing day!

🌱 Volunteer Day at Got Greens – Friday, September 12th

Location: Got Greens Farm, Winterbourne, South Glos

Time: 11:00–16:00 (Drop-in, come and go as you like)

Over the last year or so we have planted over 20 apple trees with the aim of harvesting them in the future for juice and cider! They’ve still got a lot of growing to do so in the meantime we have been ‘scrumping’ (with permission!) some apples from a mature orchard in Somerset.

Join us to help process the apples - this involves cleaning the apples, mashing them up, loading the press and turning to extract the juice, and then decanting into demi-johns to ferment into cider.

You can also celebrate the harvest by joining us for our Wassail in January

We may also be prepping the garden for Autumn with final harvesting and tidying jobs.

Over winter we will be running ad-hoc tree planting sessions, pond restoration days, general land management activities etc. Don’t miss our regular gardening volunteer sessions at the start of the ‘26 growing season - sign up to the mailing list so you know what’s coming up!

Plus, we’ve got tea, coffee, and lunch covered! ☕🍲

🧤 What to Bring:

  • Sturdy shoes or boots

  • Gardening gloves (we’ll have extras if needed)

  • Clothes for the weather

  • A water bottle and any favourite snacks

No experience needed — just bring your enthusiasm and a can-do spirit! 🌞

How to Join:

This event is free, but we kindly ask you to RSVP in advance we can prep for lunch and materials.

We can’t wait to see you at the farm! 🌿✨
