Event volunteers attend music shows and festivals on behalf of Safe Gigs for Women. They engage with members of the public to explain the importance of reducing sexual harassment, assault and violence in live music, and in particular the Active Bystander approach.
Our volunteers attend shows, festivals and other events to promote our message and our work, to raise awareness by speaking to gig-goers and festival goers, handing out materials explaining and promoting our work, and educating gig goers about looking after themselves and others.
We also ask volunteers to help with fundraising by receiving donations and proceeds from the sale of Safe Gigs for Women merchandise - as all of our work is funded through donations and contributions.
Please note that while Volunteering at a gig, show or festival will mean gaining free access, but this does not mean that you will get to watch the show or that you should volunteer only in order to gain access to gigs.
Safe Gigs for Women is an intersectional organisation that serves to protect all people from sexual harassment and assault, regardless of gender identity, and regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age or any other characteristic. We oppose sexual harassment or assault against any person regardless of the gender of the victim or that of those who commit it.
