Use your time, care and compassion to support patients in our hospitals who have been identified as near the end of thieir life.
- End of Life Care volunteers support adult patients and their loved ones at the bedside, offering things like; listening, talking, reading, signposting, or simply sitting.
- End of Life Care volunteers must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as resilience, for this challening and quietly rewarding role.
- End of Life Care Volunteers must complete all the relevant checks and training at UHBW, including an enhanced DBS check and role specific training.
- UHBW volunteers are asked to commit to one 3 hour shift per week, for a minimum of 6 weeks.
