Our Brandon Trust ebay shop, based at our charity shop on Gloucester Road, is a social enterprise providing training and supported employment opportunities to adults with learning disabilities and autism.

We now need a team of dedicated volunteers on Wednesday 1pm-4pm and/or Friday 1pm-4pm to help us grow our online sales by selling some of our more unusual donated items on our Brandon Trust ebay store. Your time volunteering will help us reach more customers online to raise additional funding to create more employment opportunities for the people we support. You can read more about our work here www.brandontrust.org

The eBay Sales Volunteer role focuses on:

  • Sorting and selecting high value items from stock donations
  • Discovering the value of items through search engines
  • Taking pictures of selected items for the listings
  • Ensuring eBay processes are followed accurately

If you know your Fiorelli from your Florence and Fred, can find your way around online sales websites, have the patience and investigative skills to research and price all sorts of unusual or sought-after items in order to create accurate and engaging online sales listings then we would love you to come and join our friendly team based on Gloucester Road for a few hours a week - Wednesday 1pm-4pm and/or Friday 1pm-4pm.

I’m interested.   What would you want me to do?

  • Product Research: Detective work to gather as much information on all sorts of items before listing them online considering market demand and prices to make sure we are ‘getting it right’.
  • Draft Listings: Create engaging listings that attract the right potential buyers to maximize sales and get those bids in
  • Monitor Listings: keep a check to see if things are selling and adapt pricing if necessary
  • Product Preparation: Ensure items are clean and presentable for photography.
  • Photography: Capture high-quality images that highlight product features and also accurately highlight any flaws so customers are fully aware of the condition of the item

Why do you need someone now? What difference will I make?

Our supported employees in the online shop are super-efficient at packing and posting off our items once they sell online.  They could do so much more but at the moment only the manager can put on the online sales.  The more people available to research and create online listings, the more work for our current supported employees and then the possibility of creating even more jobs in the future for the people we support.  And your help will directly contribute to creating those future opportunities!

What other qualities do you need from me?

As well as patience to research items and attention to detail for creating listings and taking photos we need someone friendly and easy going who can work without too much supervision and is supportive of the work that we do at Brandon Trust and is willing to become part of the team.

Sounds great. What will I get from volunteering with Brandon Trust?

  • A chance to work in a friendly team, make new friends & meeting a diverse group of colleagues in the ebay shop and the Charity Shop team
  • The feel-good factor of knowing that you are contributing to helping more people with learning disabilities and autism gain employment
  • Flexibility to fit with your lifestyle around your other commitments
  • Volunteer discount on some donated goods
  • Additional training, in person and online through our Charity Retail Association membership
  • Work experience to add to your CV.
  • Tea and biscuits provided on shift!
  • Access to future Brandon Trust job opportunities
