Help shape Bristol Food Network in its next 3-year phase of work, leading the way on Bristol Good Food 2030 and building on Bristol’s recent Gold Sustainable Food City award.
Bristol Food Network C.I.C. supports, informs and connects individuals, community projects, organisations and businesses that share a vision to transform Bristol into a sustainable food city. We are currently looking for two new Directors to join the board of our Community Interest Company.
BFN was set up as a voluntary organisation in 2009, and converted to a CIC in 2014 in order to take on running the Bristol Food Connections Festival (which has since gone on to become an independent CIC). We run an annual opening of Community Gardens under the Get Growing Garden Trail. We have helped set up Community Fridges. We have run campaigns such as the Bristol Independents promotion, and engagement activities such as city roundtables & conferences. Our recent work has focused on coordinating Bristol’s bids to become first a Silver and subsequently a Gold Sustainable Food City – making Bristol only the second city in the country to achieve this status.
We are now planning next steps for both Bristol Food Network and for further developing Bristol’s ‘One City’ approach to food. Work has begun on ‘Bristol Good Food 2030’ – an integrated food system transformation action plan which will engage with multiple partners across the city in order to deliver on the food-related targets of the One City Plan; Climate & Ecological Emergency Strategies; and the emerging Food Equality Strategy.
We are looking for two new Directors to join the board who will help us both shape this new phase of work, and help to put Bristol Food Network on a firm footing, to carry on working well into the future.
