DIASPORA! is a biennial arts festival for Bristol and the South West, presented by the Diverse Artists Network. Taking place this year for the very first time, 3-6 May 2024, the festival aims to platform and showcase the wide variety of talent reflected in the region’s underrepresented cultural communities.
Working with some of Bristol’s most iconic venues, this pilot festival will showcase dance, theatre, visual arts, film, poetry, exhibitions, music, and have an opening and closing ceremony to celebrate the cultural diversity of Bristol. Running up to the festival weekend, we will also host events, talks, workshops and celebrations that highlight the amazing vibrancy of Bristol's artists from various diasporas.
We are looking for volunteers to:
- be stewards at events during the weekend of the festival, ensuring visitors feel welcome.
- help with the opening and closing ceremonies.
- support with set up and pack down of events.
- help with organising events in the lead up to the festival.
- support us with flag making workshops.
- help us collect valuable evaluation and responses to our events.
- be ambassadors and help us promote and spread the work about the festival.
Volunteering with us will provide some excellent opportunities. You will be:
