We are also privileged to have received funding that enables us to cover this area. The team will now also be including the city centre to the patrolling areas to provide help to anyone who's experiencing a crisis or are in a vulnerable situation.

Within the town centre we are able to provide not only support to other outreach teams within the area but provide support to thoes that are not in services. Our teams receive great training including: Water rope rescue, Working at heights, Infection Control, Bullying and harassment in the workplace - a practical guide for employees, Manual Handling, Environmental Awareness For Employees, Mental Heath Awareness, Health and Safety Awareness, General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), Information Security, Stress in the workplace, Sharps Awareness, Risk Assessment Awareness, Aggression, Hand Hygiene, First aid and can provide assistance to those in need. The city centre can be a very busy environment and we find it to be an area we really make a difference in.

The Crisis Intervention Team are volunteers who believe that people deserve care and compassion in their time of need.  Those needs could be as a result of homelessness, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, intoxication, drug abuse, assault or any other issue which has caused personal distress or the potential for physical harm.
We strive to help prevent suicide and we are aware that the above mentioned needs  along with others can be a contributing factors to a person finding themselves having suicidal thoughts. This is the reason we feel it is important for us to reach out to those in a range of environments and situations, to ensure they feel supported.

They help people whoever they are and whatever their situation, for example by listening, caring, offering practical help or by referring people to other (specialist) agencies who can help them. They will also provide assistance until emergency services arrive and provide them with a handover that can be important within that situation.

We currently patrol on a Friday & Saturday evening.
