What will you be doing?

We need a dedicated Garden Leader who can play a key role in running our monthly Saturday Garden group and support our in-week garden group. The group will look after the garden by carrying out tasks like watering, weeding, planting, sowing seeds, pruning, and general maintenance throughout the seasons. You will be planning and delivering activities to do these tasks. The group will be made up of members of the community so you will be working alongside other people.

  • Creating and maintaining a garden which is low maintenance with lots of sensory plants to create a nice place for the community and different staff teams to spend time.
  • Creating habitats and food sources for wildlife.
  • Supervising the group to make sure tasks are completed safely and correctly, following risk assessments.
  • Providing the group with information about growing techniques, plants, and wildlife in the space.
  • Working with the other Garden Leaders and the Climate and Nature Action Coordinator to develop a task list and plan activities. The group will not be the only group caring for the garden, so planning is needed to manage tasks.
  • Working with the other Garden Leaders and the Climate and Nature Action Coordinator to develop and adhere to risk assessments for activities, and gather feedback and concerns
