We're looking for an enthusiastic Volunteer Fundraising Team Leader to help grow and support a volunteer fundraising team in your city while working alongside other Team Leaders across the UK to share ideas, inspire success and maximise our impact.
In this rewarding role, you'll:

Lead and motivate a local team of volunteer fundraisers.

Help organise exciting community fundraising events.

Recruit and welcome new volunteers.

Represent Deafblind UK in your local area.

Liaise with other Team Leaders and staff to share best practice and build fundraising success.

What times do I need to commit to?
This is a flexible volunteer role that fits around your existing commitments. You can volunteer at times that suit you, organising activities in your own time and at a pace that works for you.
Am I suitable?
If you're enthusiastic, organised and enjoy bringing people together, we'd love to welcome you to the team. No previous fundraising experience is required. We'll provide a full induction, training and ongoing support to help you feel confident in your role.
What support will I get?
You'll receive everything you need to succeed in your role. We'll provide a fundraising pack full of ideas, resources and promotional materials along with ongoing support, advice and encouragement from our dedicated Fundraising Team. You'll also have a named contact who will be there to answer questions, offer guidance and help you every step of the way.

Deafblindness affects everyone in different ways. Some people might have mild sight and hearing loss whereas others can’t see or hear anything. It can be isolating and lonely and can lead to mental health issues - but it’s far more common than many people realise. Around 450,000 people are affected by sight and hearing loss in the UK.

Why we want you
The impact of volunteer fundraising groups can be huge, for us as a charity as well as you. This role is all about maximising the impact of volunteer-led fundraising activity in your area, encouraging others to do their best and work together to achieve success in aid of Deafblind UK. It can give you the opportunity to use your skills and self-motivation to make friends, socialise and build transferable skills in a supportive environment. You will become a key part of your group as well as the wider fundraising team. Your fundraising efforts will help us to enable people who are deafblind to live their lives to the full.
What you will be doing
- Planning fundraising events with your team, within your local community – whether it be a coffee morning, quiz night, bingo, or something else!
- Encouraging your workmates, friends, family, and local community to join in the fun.
- Seeking fundraising opportunities and representing Deafblind UK in your local community.
- Ensuring that events you run are in line with Deafblind UK policies and procedures such as Health & Safety and Safeguarding.
- Communicating with the Deafblind UK staff team, and other lead volunteers about upcoming fundraising activities.
- Organising monthly group meetings on Teams or in person.
- Participating in Team Leader Teams calls, sharing key updates and getting to know other Team Leaders.
- Ensuring group participation in local fundraising and awareness events.
- Helping recruit volunteers to your group, from your network, attending events and sharing on social media.
The skills you need
- Have a warm, friendly and engaging manner.
- To be active and engaged in the group.
- To be trustworthy and reliable, including the ability to handle money.
- To get on well with people from diverse backgrounds and be able to work as part of a team.
- To communicate effectively and confidently with a variety of audiences.
- To be able to organise and run events, always adhering to relevant policies and procedures.
- Understanding of and commitment to equality and diversity
- To be able to understand the need for support for deafblind people and their loved ones, including the diversity of our member base.
- A willingness to learn more about deafblindness.
- Previous fundraising experience would be helpful but is not essential.
- Creativity.
