We have smaller groups and events throughout the year, but generally we run three large events - a Wassail in January, a Summer Fair in June and a Lantern Parade in November. They are generally very well attended with hundreds of local residents coming to them.
We need volunteers to help bake cakes before, put up posters in the local area, set-up equipment, run stalls, serve refreshments, run craft activities for children, help steward the event and generally ensure the smooth running of the event on the day.
We'll provide a thorough briefing before the event and take on your feedback afterwards. Can you help?
About us
Hillfields Community Garden (HCG) is a small, local charity set up to bring the people of Hillfields together through community groups and activities. We are quite unique in that we operate from a public park and are open 24/7. Green spaces have a crucial role to play in supporting community health and wellbeing and they have huge potential to respond to the climate and ecological emergencies in our cities. Underpinned by the five ways to well-being and nature connections, our regular groups and events bring the community together and provide significant learning opportunities as well as enhancing the biodiversity of this ward.
