More than three million tonnes of the food that goes to waste each year is still edible – enough for seven billion meals. At the same time there are four million children across the UK who don’t have enough to eat.
At FareShare South West, we join the dots between surplus food and hunger. In 2022, our volunteer van crews delivered food for three million meals to schools and charities across the South West.
With new van routes and more charities to support across the region, we desperately need more regular volunteer drivers.
Can you and your team help us find new volunteers?
We’re looking for groups from local businesses to join our team of Community Ambassadors and help recruit new volunteer drivers, driver's mates and warehouse assistants.
What’s involved?
- You’ll start your half day shift at our central Bristol warehouse with a briefing from our dedicated Volunteer Coordinator.
- After tea, coffee and surplus snacks, we’ll arm you with FareShare South West posters and flyers for you to distribute in shops, cafes and community centres.
- Choose an area of Bristol to suit you – or we can suggest a route.
- There’s no fundraising or door knocking involved.
- Just a simple, effective way of helping get the word out across the city.
To get your team involved, email us or apply on our website.
Join the fight against food poverty today and help us spread the word. Thank You!
