All sorts of people take on all sorts of roles at Scouts
There are lots of non-programme roles and tasks which need doing at Scouts.
Here are just a few examples:
- Chair (Trustee Board)
- Treasurer (Trustee Board)
- Fundraiser
- Social Media
- Technology Lead
Scouts is where young people make new friends, have amazing adventures and learn new skills - all of which is supported by our amazing 150,000 volunteers. Surprised at that number? Well, something else that might surprise you, is that 80,000 of these volunteers are charity trustees.
We’re looking for volunteer trustees to help run our charity. It’s a great opportunity for any student, no matter what subject they’re studying. As trustees, they’ll gain experience that’ll help build their CVs, including:
- Influencing and negotiating
- Decision-making
- Risk management
- Getting involved in their local community
- Making friends, connections and networking
There’s no need for previous Scouts or trustee experience. As the biggest youth organisation in the UK, we’re particularly interested in helping young people have their voices heard, and the opportunity to influence the development of Scouts.
