We run all our groups with volunteers. We need you to volunteer at the same meeting, same time and place each week for approximately 2.5.hours/week. We have daytime and evening groups and they are held in various community locations across Bristol.We need you to help members get the most from groups
Changes Bristol has been providing free, open access peer support groups since the early 2000s. We try to make it easy for anyone with a mental health or emotional wellbeing challenge to get to a group with people who may share similar experiences. We make sure everyone has a chance to talk and then the other group members can offer advice and support based on their own experience. We have a few ground rules to make sure everyone feels comfortable to share their feelings and our volunteers haelp to keep the meeting on track - and they also take part themselves.
It's not all about sitting round being depressed however - we have a lot of fun too! We have a thriving social scene, people with interest in arts and crafts, we hold exciting fundraising events and people form real friendships that cotinue outside of the group meetings. There are lots of ways to be involved.
