BS3 Helping Others has been asked by High Sheriff of Bristol John Manley about getting involved in an exciting new project.

AskingBristol aims to connect Bristol based organisations with needs to organisations / individuals that can provide assistance. With the help of a Buddy (a specially trained volunteer), organisations identify the material, financial or volunteering assistance it needs (known as ‘asks’).

The Buddy passes the asks to a ‘SuperConnector’ (someone who has good connections in Bristol and knows those who can be helpful), who identifies a donor. Finally, the Buddy puts the donor in touch with the ‘ask’ originator.

AskingBristol is looking to run a trial with 10 organisations and 10 Buddies from a single community. High Sheriff John Manley felt that the expertise of BS3 Helping Others, the community spirit and the connectedness found in BS3 would be particularly useful in this trial.

BS3 Helping Others are currently looking to recruit Buddies.

  • It would be great if you are local and have knowledge of BS3.
  • You would be helping local community organisations access the help that they need to make their group even more successful.
  • Training will be provided.
