We have 2 fantastic shops in Brislington, one on Sandy Park Road and another (Superstore) on Brislington Hill.

Our Superstore stocks a mixture of furniture, homeware and small electricals and our Sandy Park Road Shop focusses on clothing, toys & accessories.

Both of our Brislington shops are looking for volunteers to join the shop floor team to help raise as much income as possible.

What will my role include?

You may be involved in one task or a combination of different tasks. You can let us know what interests you.

  • Welcoming and assisting our customers, donors, and other visitors to the shop.
  • Assisting customers with product selection and queries.
  • Using the till, taking payment, and packing goods.
  • Answering the shop phone
  • Supporting fundraising initiatives, including the promotion of the St Peter’s Lottery.
  • Creating interesting, visually attractive displays, considering current trends, seasons and promotions.

What qualities do I need?

As a Superstore Volunteer you will be an ambassador for St Peter’s Hospice. You’ll need to be/have, or be keen to work towards the following:

  • Good listening and communication skills.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Enthusiastic and reliable.
  • Open to learning and developing new skills
  • Well presented, friendly and polite in a variety of situations.
  • Prepared to work alone and as part of a team.
  • Enjoy interacting with people.
  • Prepared to handle a variety of clothes/electrical items/furniture in a busy working environment.

How much time do I need to commit?

We welcome any amount of time you can give us. Some volunteers will work a couple of hours a week, others might come in for 2 or 3 days. We can be flexible around your existing commitments.

What support & training will I get?

You will receive regular supervision, guidance and feedback from the shop Manager and Assistant Manager. You'll be working within the wider, friendly, SPH Retail team and there’s always someone around to ask for help.

How do I get there?

You’ll be based at 39 Brislington Hill, BS4 5BE or 43 Sandy Park Road, BS4 3PH. There’s a free carpark nearby, the Brislington Hill Shopper's Car Park.

It’s a 15 – 20 minutes bus ride from Bristol Bridge. Hop on to the X39, 349, 522 or 1.
