About Us

Here at Bristol Cycling Centre we are passionate about helping people, no matter age or ability, to enjoy cycling in a safe, traffic-free environment. We run a variety of sessions to the public, schools and do events with other organisations and charities. Some of these sessions include Learn to Ride, Family Disability Sessions, and Bikeability Level 1 and 2 courses.

It is important to us to keep our site tidy, clean and safe for our riders and staff. We offer seasonal, larger maintenance jobs such as Bramble Bashing and smaller, reoccurring jobs like keeping the track free from leaves and debris and tending to our wildflower garden.

Role

Do you love the outdoors? Interested in gardening and other maintenance work? Keen to gain some new skills?

We are looking for dedicated and outgoing volunteers to help us do our yearly Bramble Bashing!

We need you to…

  • Be hands-on and willing to get dirty.
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Be willing to work in different weather conditions.

Time Commitment

This role is only available as a short 3 hour shift (9am-12pm) on selected dates. This is not a regular role, and dates are liable to change. If you are interested, the Operations Team can discuss with you when your shift will be.

This Volunteering Role will Involve:

  • Working within a team on large and small maintenance jobs at the Centre.
  • Cutting back brambles and clearing up the waste.
  • Sweeping our track, slope and Pump Track free from leaves and debris.

We will provide:

  • Support and basic training where appropriate, to develop your own skills in the areas you would like to focus on.
  • Hot drinks and snacks.
  • A safe space to volunteer.

Not only would you be a great help to us, but we want to help you too! If there’s a specific part of the centre you want to learn more about or specific skills you want to gain, let us know and we will do our best to help!
