Welcome Home is a new project being led in partnership with Southern Brooks to support clients being dischared from hospital who have been identified as needing short to medium term support.

We are looking to recruit supportive and outgoing volunteers who can work with clients to support them on their journey to regain independance. To help with practical day to day skills such as cooking, cleaning and going to appointments/activities, so that when their support ends they can live as independantly as possible.

Travel across South Gloucestershire is required, therefore access to suitable transport and flexibility with hours is essential, but we will work with you to ensure the hours fit in with your existing commitments.

The role will suit someone who is able to commit to 1-2 hours per week, who is patient, proactive and passionate about improving the lives of others.

What you will get out of it

  • It's a great way to make a real difference in someone's life
  • You'll be giving something to your community
  • You get to be part of Age UK South Gloucestershire's friendly volunteer team with regular social events
  • Further volunteering opportunities and experiences that can help you with personal/professional development.
  • Volunteers tell us they find befriending really rewarding

When :

Approx 1-2 hours per week - flexible
