In the digital age we live in, you can make a real difference by helping to build someone's confidence online. Could you spare some time to support an older person in getting to grips with a phone, tablet or computer as a Digital Champion volunteer?
Our Digital Support Service is available to support anyone over the age of 50 living in South Gloucestershire who would like to know how to access the internet, use new technology, stay connected or access vital services.
What you will get out of it
- It's a great way to make a real difference in someone's life
- You'll be giving something to your community
- You get to be part of Age UK South Gloucestershire's friendly volunteer team with regular social events
- Further volunteering opportunities and experiences that can help you with personal/professional development.
- Volunteers tell us they find befriending really rewarding
What is expected of me?
- The ability to work patiently and supportively with people and work towards their goals - in either a group or 1-1 setting (Groups run in Yate, Thornbury and Hanham)
- All volunteers will also need to attend relevant training sessions, provide references and undertake a DBS check appropriate to the role.
- No formal experience neccessary.
