As a Student Ambassador for Changes you will represent Changes and our ‘Sunrise’ Project at your place of study. You will undertake various activities all with the aim of raising awareness of poor mental health and the power of peer support. 

We are looking for Student Ambassadors with a passion for mental health, who will work with us to co-design and lead this project as it moves forward. 

This is a public-facing role and will require you to develop connections and encourage people to get involved with our volunteering program. We are looking for 4-5 dedicated Student Ambassadors to be part of our team.

This role includes-

  • Giving presentations or short talks about our services 
  • Helping to raise awareness by running stalls at university and charity events
  • Leading other student volunteers and being their first point of contact for directions and advice
  • Researching and gathering data from the student population 
  • Organising and running focus groups
  • Producing and distributing helpful resources about specific mental health topics
  • Organising events and talks 
  • Lead fundraising events (Socials, bake sales, sponsored activities)

Person Specification-

  • Some experience with public speaking
  • Passion for raising awareness about mental health and peer support 
  • Enjoyment of meeting people and making connections 
  • Ability to take initiative in a leadership role and to manage others fairly 
  • Some experience with social media (instagram, facebook, meta business), canva, and basic knowledge of google docs/spreadsheets/zoom

Time Required- 

This is negotiable, minimum one hour a week.

Skills gained from the role- 

  • You will gain valuable leadership skills as well as teamwork skills by distributing tasks and sharing responsibilities with other student volunteers 
  • Improve your confidence in networking, public speaking and making connections 
  • You will learn how to communicate with a diverse range of people, and how to openly discuss mental health. 
  • You will learn how to organise and execute public events 
  • You will gain knowledge on researching and gathering data
