Help us to plant over 70,000 trees this winter!

Come and join us for the second planting season at Lower Chew Forest! Please follow the link provided to our volunteering portal for all the volunteering dates available throughout February and March: https://volunteer.avonneedstrees.org.uk/volunteers/opportunity/10261468?searchqs=searchString=&btnSearchBasic=

Everyone is welcome, and no experience is needed. Come and try a day if you haven't before, meet new people outside in the fresh air, and learn the techniques for planting hedgerows, wood pastures, and scrub. We will be using native tree saplings; and over 20 different species.

This opportunity is suitable for anyone (including children over the age of 13, with an accompanying adult).

Lower Chew Forest will be the South West's largest new woodland in a generation, set on a 422 acre site between Bristol and Bath, in Compton Dando parish. This is a project of huge regional significance and on a scale like nothing we've done before. This is our most ambitious project yet and creating the South West's biggest new woodland in a generation won't be possible without your help.

Together, we will establish a woodland of 100,000 trees and shrubs through a combination of tree planting and natural regeneration, connecting with two existing ancient woodlands and several others. We will also create a mosaic of complimentary habitats including wetlands, miles of hedgerow, and species rich grassland.

Since our inception, we have planted and cared for thousands of trees thanks to the help of hundreds of volunteers from local and surrounding communities. We thrive because of the commitment we receive from regular weekly or monthly volunteers as well the energy and enthusiasm of those who come as a one-off.

Whether you can volunteer once, or each week, we invite you to join us and be part of something special. You can help us on our mission to create new woodlands in your local area that will stand for generations.

Please follow the link provided to our volunteer portal where you can view volunteering opportunities and sign up for as many or as few volunteer tree planting days as you like!
