We are looking for Archive Volunteers to join Bristol Music Trust as part of our Heritage Lottery Funded ‘Lantern Project’.
The Lantern Project is part of the redevelopment and transformation our second hall, the Lantern which is of significant historic interest and although in poor condition retains many Victorian features and details. The Lantern, built in the Victorian Byzantine style in 1873 is unique to Bristol. We have the opportunity of restoring this building, reinventing its use, celebrating its history and organising the archives.
With the Project Archivist, Archive Volunteers will carry out work on archival material connected with Colston Hall, listing material for the catalogue, and discovering and recording interesting stories hidden there. No specific experience is necessary as we will provide you with training and information for this role.
