Why we need you
We are looking for an admin volunteer to support our Adult Residential and Outreach Manager, and team of support workers at the National Autistic Society residential home Pinecroft, Gloucester road, Alveston, Bristol. You will be part of an adult service team who supports autistic adults in a residential home and in the community.
We are looking for a volunteer to support us with admin task, you will need to be familiar with using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Volunteers have a vital role in supporting the smooth running of the services, freeing up staff time so they can spend more time with the people we support.
What you will be doing
- Providing general admin support
- Copying information into documents on word and excel
- Creating templates in word and excel
- General duties such as filing, dealing with correspondence including emails, answering telephone calls and some reception duties
- Providing support to the management team to input data – such as incidents, accidents, supervisions, holiday leave
- Inputting data from PCR Covid tests
- You will be given training for these tasks
Skills, experience and qualities useful for the role (but not essential)
- Confident using a computer
- Confident using Microsoft word and excel
- Able to volunteer on a regular basis
- Maintain confidentiality and data protection within NAS policies
- be able to volunteer in a team with NAS staff.
When and where
- The role will be at Pinecroft, Gloucester road, Alveston, Bristol, BS35 3RG
- We are looking for a volunteer for approx. 10 hours a week split over 2 days
- We can be flexible on the days during office hours Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
Support
- You will have a named supervisor
- Access to our e-learning modules including autism awareness and safeguarding
- There will be training for the role
- Regular support and supervision
- Agreed travel expenses reimbursed

Other information
All the necessary PPE will be provided; we provide safety inductions for volunteers including clear social distancing guidelines; risk assessments are in place to protect people and activities; We constantly monitor the government guidelines and adhere to them all.

Whilst we are able to make reasonable adjustments for volunteers you will need to be able to volunteer independently as we are not able to offer one to one support.
