We are looking for enthusiastic and friendly volunteers to join us at our activity drop-in, The Hive!

The Hive is a small local charity whose aim is to support people with learning disabilities and/or autism, their families and carers in Bristol and South Gloucestershire. We are committed to helping, including, valuing and empowering the learning disabled community. The focus of our drop-in is to provide a safe space for members of the learning disability community to come and socialise, play games and participate in various activities.

We provide a range of activities for our members that they can either choose to be part of or simply come socialise with their friends. Some of the activities that we have on hand include a pool table, games room, sensory room, and a Wii. Each of our drop-in sessions looks slightly different and involves various games, arts and crafts, and other activities.

With staff members on site and leading all of our sessions, we are looking for volunteers to assist in providing support where needed. This support comes in the form of helping members to access games (reminding them when it is their turn in Uno, teaching how to play dominoes, etc.) and activities (switching on the Wii, playing pool, singing karaoke) and serving refreshments (we have a small kitchen for serving snacks, teas and coffees, and light lunches).
