We are looking for a female volunteer to support a woman-only learning disability service. The role involves spending time with residents and taking part in a range of enjoyable activities within the home, such as arts and crafts, puzzles, board games, cooking, baking, and watching TV together. There may also be occasional opportunities to go out for walks in the local area.
We’re looking for someone who is friendly, patient, and engaging, and who enjoys supporting others to participate in activities at their own pace. A warm and positive approach is key to helping residents feel comfortable and included.
Full training and guidance will be provided, including learning disability awareness and any role‑specific information.
As with all our volunteer roles, a DBS check will be required, and we will request two references. Volunteers will also need to complete our online or in‑person training before starting their role. Ongoing support will be available from both the volunteer team and a designated member of staff within the service.
