Groups, charities and organisations of all sizes can use Can Do Bristol to make their projects better.
If you're looking to find volunteers, here’s how to create a great volunteer ad:
1. Check the rules
Make sure your volunteer ad follows our guidelines.
2. Make sure your profile looks professional
- Use your group’s full name, not your own name.
- Write a clear description using bullet points and headings.
- Add a good-quality logo or picture.
- Include links to videos on YouTube or Vimeo.
- Add links to your website to help people find you online.
- Let people email you directly if you use a public email.
- Use “Best Match” tags to help people with the right skills find you.
3. Tips to promote your volunteering opportunity
- Use a bright, eye-catching picture.
- Give lots of details about the volunteer job.
- Use "Best Match" tags to attract people with the right skills.
- Add a link to make it easy for people to sign up.
- Make sure your ad follows our rules so it can be promoted on Can Do Bristol.
4. Apply for a badge
Consider applying for a badge to make your activities stand out.
You can apply for the Supported Volunteering for Refugees and Asylum Seekers badge if you can meet certain criteria. This means all your activities will be tagged with this badge, and they will be displayed in search results with this filter switched on. You can find the criteria to earn this badge here.
Additionally, if you're a business who has completed either a volunteering opportunity or an Ask or Offer exchange on Can Do Bristol, you can apply for the Business for Good badge, demonstrating the social values of your business.
Apply for badges here by navigating to the 'Your Account' dropdown menu.
